Post Interview vibes, weekend recap, and food thots
Post Interview vibes:
... were a bit uncertain.... this is a first for me. Most interviews I come out of, I'm pretty sure what my chances are, but this one was a bit fuzzy, which alarmed me a bit (they didn't even ask for my references yet). But I know they have a couple of other candidates yet to interview so we'll see how it goes. But yea, they asked me alot of hypothetical questions and even gave me an excel exercise test - they gave me a sample size with some limited research data, and I was told to, in a sense, manipulate the data/variables to come up with a descriptive analysis in memo form (thus, testing my writing skills as well). Because I was fresh with SPSS data analysis, I transfered some of the data over to SPSS to look at it. Hope I did ok... (fingers crossed). But to be safer than sorry, I'm not going bother thinking about this until/IF they get back to me.... On another note, an old prof recently told me that my former boss was leaving her position, and was hoping that I'd take over. I was a bit taken aback by that - although flattered by her vote of confidence in me. =P
Weekend recap:
Quite busy.... stayed up late Thurs night watching For the Love of the Game with Jeannie & Mike, while making rice krispie treats. The BBQ was fun, and Clem & Gene joined us for that as well as fireworks afterwards. Saturday, Clem left, but the rest of us joined Enoch, Pris, and Chris at the movie theater, then dinner with Thomas and Esther at Rice Bowl (who could say no to a free meal), and then boba at TE. Gene finished off my tomato soup and salmon cakes (which reminds me, I need to go grocery shopping again... grr). Back at home, Wayne and I stayed up with Gene talking about life and such, and barely got to church ontime the next morning. Sunday was lazy and fun, and later we said goodbye to Gene and picked up Jerry from the airport. Fun stuff. I want another weekend like that. =P
Food thots:
Let's see... we'll finish the baked salmon tonight, and I'll make some zucchini & mushrooms with basil and garlic. Then maybe I'll tackle some T-bone steaks with a buttery spread and some green beans with shallots.... and a veggie soup with the pork neck bones I've got. And then maybe a shrimp & sausage jambalaya, and then lamb shanks after that.... and along the way, some salad too (still have 2 more heads of romaine lettuce... uck). At this point, I am so sick of salad right now. I'm starting to get better in planning for meals (my goal is to be able to plan on a weekly basis without having to make multiple trips to the grocery store) but its still a bit difficult to plan it all out. The more recipes I "break-in", the more selection I have to draw from...
