Okay, so S has called me multiple times asking for her Lane Bryant bag and receipts. I was slightly bugged about the multiple calls (she called 3 times within a 3 hour time frame!) and I only picked up on one call. Trying to model boundaries and independence for her. Was thinking that we also need to model either 1) empathy & manners or just plain 2) social skills for her. Which might not be difficult since I can tell that we influence her alot. When she talks to me, I can totally hear Tracy and Priscilla through her words and tone of voice. So anyways, we found out that Lina had accidentally thrown away the receipts. Mystery solved. No more phone calls (whew!)
I also found out that R is visiting (an undergrad friend of Wayne's who is now a prof there). I used to think he was a little weird, and theorized that maybe he was either 1) gay and liked Wayne or 2) had awkward social skills and was just really nice to Wayne. Then I met Wayne's family friend Harold in SF... a very social guy who is really into design and interior decoration and chinese art. He even watches Trading Spaces, and we can totally talk shop. His mom always complains that he is her only son, and she can't wait for him to find a nice girl to settle down with, and have babies with. Wayne's mom found out that I had a friend in SF (Cindy) and suggested maybe setting them up. Wayne laughed at the idea, because we don't think they'd get along at all. In anycase, Wayne asked if Harold goes out much... hangs out with people much in the city... any friends? He replied -- no friends. Yea right. I'm 90% sure he's gay...just the vibes I was getting. Not that I'm holding that against him or anything. Just interesting (what else is he supposed to say in front of his mother?) Compared to Harold, R is just a socially awkward professor. Pretty funny.
