Everyone's pretty much processed their WCC experience on their blogs, but I haven't (yet). I was trying to figure out what to reveal and what to be discrete about. First of all, I was totally SHOCKED to see how many people were at WCC. Wayne and I hadn't been there in ... I dunno... 3 or 4 years, and we can tell that the WC movement has gone through quite a few changes!! I noticed that the program started stating the core principles, values, and convictions of the movement, which is always an important thing to do when a movement starts moving and growing... you want to establish your original core values in efforts for the movement to remain focused and grounded. Second thing I noticed was that there was a bit more emphasis on lay ministry and living out the World Christian journey, rather than just exposing people to the vision. Integration is equally as important, and I agree.

The WC movement has always been dear to my heart because it touches on how our lives participate and contribute in one aspect or another to fulfill the Great Commission. Whether we're at home or overseas, this world perspective should transform us in such a way that we can't help but see our lives and our dreams differently, and begin to align them to the things of God's heart. It's harder to catch that at a 3 day conference than compared to the impact of a summer short-term project, but God works in people's hearts in so many ways.

This conference gave Wayne and myself clarity with where our convictions and our visions lie... and although we are still in a "waiting" period (wayne still has a couple years of residency to go), we are open to however and wherever God leads us to. In talking to a couple ministry consultants, we're also a bit at ease with the whole subject of families in the mission field, and raising children overseas. And one step at a time, God is teaching us oneness. It's so cool to have a partner in life who shares the same visions and goals in life as you do... and together, striving for and mutually encouraging each other in the process of it all. Through Wayne, I've been incredibly blessed, and through it, I've gotten a chance to tangibly taste what God's love is like.
