Serving together

Do people know I'm going to Nepal this year? If not, now you know. This is our first ST trip together for Hubby and myself. We've gone on projects separately as single individuals, but doing this together will certainly bring in something new to our marriage. Already this year has been a growing experience for us as we are learning to serve closely together and all the while we are learning about ourselves as individuals part of a unit. Teaching Sunday School together and starting up a new young couples kinship group together has been sometimes frustrating, but often times very growing for us (especially me). We're both visionaries, but differ in the practical application of things (still got to work on that). I myself need to learn to trust my husband and give him the right of way (and not always shoot down all his ideas; note to self - be more encouraging and supportive!!). At the same time, I am also continuing to learn to be bold/courageous in my marriage and not always defer to my husband (but rather, face God by myself rather than hide behind Hubby).

It brings a new dimmension into our marriage that we can be co-workers working side-by-side together for the kingdom of God. I'm nervous, and I know I still have a long way to go as we are just beginning to explore this area... but I know God's starting a work in us and I'm excited about the things He's is doing (and going to do) in my marriage.
