Ack! Where is my entire Archive template?! It's totally gone... :-O
Since I usually fake my way through html (aka: cut and paste) I'm not really sure how to recreate my template totally on my own (hint: help!!)
As for the elections -- I breathed a sigh of relief in regards to the govenor's race. I understand that Davis may not be the best candidate, but hey, at least we have a Dem on board. Someone who is favorable to social issues and working to improve California's welfare state. A couple years ago I was part of a collaboration directed by Sharon Davis (the govenor's wife), who I might add has been really supportive of efforts to meet the vast social needs in this state as well as find innovative and effective means to improve our current welfare state (which is completely shabby right now) and Child Protective Services, as we know it. I find most of Bush's work mostly distasteful, and anyone more conservative than him (aka: Simon) is not needed at a time like this. Especially with the current economy (and people still push for tax cuts in the higher income brackets? Eliminating the death tax? Did anyone notice that Reaganomics did not work earlier?)
I'm quite disappointed at the Republicans taking over the Senate, but I'm glad that my own State Assemblyman Steinberg and Senator Ortiz got reelected. I've met with both personally, seen them in action, and know some of their stuff and where they stand. Darrell Steinberg is just plain awesome.
Okay, before I get in trouble with my more conservative peers (most of my Christian friends), I'll shut up now. Please don't all jump on me for my personal views. ;-)
