Monday was a crazy day -- spent nearly all day stressing over and prepping for the potluck last night. I started cooking at noon, and didn't finish until close to 6:30pm. That's when people were streaming in, and I was half hostess, half cook (I roasted my very first turkey, did yams, stuffing, and gravy), and half coordinator of the entire event as it went along for the entire meeting. Oh yea, and half of me was also setting up and cleaning up too. If you add that all up, you'll realize that it was probably best that there were several of me, but that wasn't the case. When I'm stressed out, I'm not very good with communicating my needs and delegating the work that needs to be done. I think Todd W noticed that, so he started helping out and wouldn't hear my protests. By the end of the night, I was a bit uptight, short-tempered, and annoyed. I came pretty close to tears by the time everyone left -- because Wayne still hadn't come home. And when he did, he had to leave right away again too... and didn't come back til this afternoon. Heard some comments last night that I did not have the stomache for... hey, if you think I didn't do a good job, or should have done this, or shouldn't have done that, well too bad. I did the best I could so shove it. I don't need to hear it.

Even though I didn't get a chance to fellowship with people as much as I would have liked, but I saw that it was happening among people, which was good. Some of the guys were watching the Niners game. I ended up with 4 pies at the end, so Wayne took them to work to bribe the nurses. They absolutely adored him for bringing the pies, and thus, he got 3 deliveries last night. So that was good.

Talked to Cindy until 5am this morning... it was good to hear from her and it helped me to unwind my tenseness about last night. I didn't get up this morning until noon. My prof called soon afterwards (FINALLY!!) so it looks like I really can make my Dec 2nd deadline. MSW, here I come!!!!!
