Ruth's Ramblings

So while I'm waiting for the cable modem guy to come by and set up our new internet service, I figured I might as well blog. Wayne has purchased all this stuff from Fry's and Best Buy... wireless networking stuff as well as a cable modem. Who knows how long this freebie dial-up will last? =P

Anyways, our weekend was quite full. Art & Yukling cancelled Saturday's lunch which was fine, because Esther, Camille, Linds, and Steph came over and we hung out nearly all day. They came over to check out our house and catch up, and then we were over at Steph's watching some old videotapes of ourselves back in college. It was so crazy watching myself and what I was like back then. Even Wayne had a brief cameo in the footage (he was a bit more skinnier back then). After they all left, we trooped over to say hi to Enoch and Pris. We ended up talking until pretty late... but it was good because we hadn't really talked to them much (except for briefly at WCC). There's mutual respect and its always really good to catch up and touch base. We hope we are just as an encouragement to them in their times of need as they have been for us.

The in-laws (Wayne's side) came up and we pretty much hung out with them all day Sunday. Slowly but surely I'm starting to feel a bit more comfortable around them. I mean, they can never be my real parents, but after talking to Camille about her sister's pregnancy, it made me think of my own future and whether or not my own mom would come around to help me during that time. It's always nice to have your own mom help out, but I guess in my case, I shouldn't rely on that (my help and support would most likely come from Wayne's family anyways).

My cold is getting much better, although my voice is still pretty low and nasally. I hope Wayne doesn't get sick either...
