We got back from the Santa Rosa conference a bit earlier than we thought. It actually ended around noon today (Sunday), and we had planned to hang out in Sonoma/Napa counties (maybe some wine tasting) in the afternoon and then a little date afterwards, but we were so tired we ended up driving back home early. But the date is still on for tonight. Meanwhile, I'm tackling the bills (again) and Wayne's taking a short nap.

The weekend was good. I was excited about getting away for awhile, out of this house, and out of Sacramento; sort of a mini-retreat for us. It was also a good opportunity to further my friendships with Wayne's co-workers and their spouses. They are a fun bunch, and because they are all FPs, it ends up being a bunch of golden retrievers hanging out, who are friendly and very relational. I sat in a couple of Wayne's workshops, because some of the topics overlapped with my own social work interests (e.g. Addictions/Substance Abuse). There was also another workshop on medical missions - although it wasn't as informative as we had hoped. We also went to Bodega Bay to visit (where Wayne was bombed on the head by a seagull) and later, to the Charles Schultz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa. We also took advantage of the hotel's hot tub (AHHHHHHH) but after an hour of soaking, we had to leave because the Modesto residents nearly crowded us out (it seemed like the whole residency program including an attending or two decided to jump in with us). On the last night, a couple of the Sutter residents had a little party in their hotel room, so we paid them a visit. Good thing we did - they made some EXCELLENT sangria.

It's 6:30pm right now, so that means I should go wake up Wayne now. Time for that date! =)
