Weekend Recap:
It was pretty busy. First of all, thank goodness L's wedding is over. No more stress and now they can live happily ever after. =P
Second, Wayne and I dashed off to Tahoe for what was left of the weekend for our 1st anniversary. It's been a year, hard to believe. We're still newlyweds, and we still feel like kids who have just barely touched the iceberg of marriage. But its lots of fun and we're enjoying ourselves and learning lots. Tahoe was alot of fun. The only downside was that I got burned - and if you look closely, the right side of my body is darker than the other side (yea, go ahead and laugh) - the consequences of sleeping on the passenger side of the car. =P
We came home last night to a bunch of messages from Hsiung Ma-Ma and Uncle CC. I was excited to hear from them (family friends) at first, until I understood the purpose of their messages. After hearing that they intended to be "mediators" between me and my parents and "help solve" our situation, I nearly lost it. Wayne, quick to the rescue, responded to Uncle CC because I wasn't able to. I know alot of our friends are well-intentioned and when they hear our situation, they think they have the answers and "feel convicted" to mediate between us and solve things. However, the situation is not as simple as they think, and I don't have the emotional energy to go along with their "solutions" until they realize that the situation is much more complex, and nothing they can humanly do to "fix it". I'm way too tender to have to be dragged back and forth by everyone's "solutions" and later, finding myself emotionally torn and near breakdown when they find themselves back at square one. For those of you reading who have done this - please take time to understand the situation fully before "feeling the burden" to get involved. Don't waste my time, and certainly don't waste my emotional sanity, please.
