Weekend Recap
Haven't done these in awhile.. so here goes! Some random thoughts from this past weekend:
1. Drove down to LA for Matt/Carina's wedding. Congrats to Matt & Carina! Always happy to have more married friends =)
2. Currently teaching myself to knit (I started on Friday). I bought myself a little kiddie kit and after some practice stitches, I'm on my way with my first project (a little coin purse). I brought it with me to LA.
3. Don't learn to knit while in the car. I hardly ever get carsick and this time I almost did. All those loops and string, and figuring out where everything goes while the car is spinning... Blech.
4. Met/hung out with some of Wayne's old UCLA AACF buddies. Nice bunch. Finally got to put faces (and personalities) to some of the names I've heard.
5. Visited Evergreen-LA. Nice church, liked it alot. Felt very IV-like in their vision and mission. Reminded me of how much I miss the multi-ethnic element in my Sunday worship/community experience. On the way home, Wayne and I had a long discussion on how we felt about a few church visions/outreach strategies and where each of us stood with our own needs. We also talked about where we are currently at (with church, and the various ministries God's placed us in) as well as where we would like to be one day. It's nice to talk over these things with someone who shares the same burdens, but with a new perspective. The future is unknown, but I was reminded (again) of just how incredibly blessed I am to have Wayne in my life to share these wonderful things with. I can really see how over time, God has melded our hearts together as one.
6. I'm already missing the food down there. =P
7. I definately lost weight when I was in Nepal, even though the scale says I'm pretty much the same. I bought these pair of pants before the trip, and realized later that I didn't fit them (I had Tracy try them on too, and she couldn't fit them either). Now that we're back, I'm totally wearing them all the time (I fit them!! YES!!). Also, the size 6 dress that I picked out to wear for Matt & Carina's wedding ended up slightly too big too (which is weird because it totally fit perfectly before Nepal).
8. This is random, but I'm tired of feeling nauseated. Ever since we got back from Nepal, I've experienced (on and off) a slight feeling of perpetual nausea. I know some of it is from lack of sleep or too much sleep (the jetlag is getting better, but I'm still not 100%) and maybe part of it was the car ride + knitting combo. Ugh.
