Marin County

Here are some pictures from our trip to Marin County from 7/18 - 7/20. We stayed in Inverness (it was our first time at a B&B!) and explored the area. It was a great time of relaxing, especially away from Sacramento heat!

Our B&B! It was charming and had 5 bedrooms (it was completely full when we were there). It was the most affordable place we could find in the area (everything was close to $200 and up). But we're hooked! We want to try other different types of B&B places! =)

We took a drive along Hwy 1 and stopped to take a picture of the coast line.

There are alot of beaches along the coast, Stinson being one of them.

Another picture of the beach/coast line...

We also spent an evening in the city. As we were crossing the Golden Gate bridge, I caught an eerie picture in the fog:

THIS is why I hate driving in San Francisco!!!

Back in Marin County, we visited Pt. Reyes and the lighthouse (there are 308 steps down to the lighthouse).

Drakes Bay (the opening of it), named after Sir Francis Drake, who supposedly shipwrecked there in the late 1570's.

A small oyster farm! It got our appetites going...

... and our appetites led us to downtown Pt. Reyes Station, at The Station House Cafe. We had a 1/2 lb. of steamed mussels in white wine, butter, and garlic; salmon cakes with cilantro-cumin-lime aioli and tomato salsa fresca; and also their famous Oyster Stew, stewed with cream, leeks, spinach, mushrooms, and tarragon. Sorry we don't have pictures of the food, but believe me, whatever you're thinking now, that's exactly how good everything tasted!!!!

And since we're speaking of food, we also stopped by one of our favorite SF restaurants, The Stinking Rose (sorry I look like a freak in this picture). Our dishes had so much garlic, we had gas for days after that (I'm sure you wanted to know about that part too). But it was worth it!!!
