Just got back from a morning on campus. I bumped into Tracy, who was late for her class, but didn't seem like she was in a terrible rush to get to class in one piece. We chatted briefly -- she reaffirmed that I was a good friend (after feeling so guilty during the past week) and that perhaps some people had overstayed their welcome. Makes sense that Tracy would understand. I think she has her own sort of following that she's trying to manage (thus, creating telephone call screeners like us). =)
Last night after the Evening in December, Wayne and I stopped by In-n-Out for a late night snack and personal hang out time. It was fattening and probably a billion calories, but boy did it taste good. =) We had a really good talk. Made me realize that we don't get very many good talks like these, because lately when we hang out, its usually vegging out time or goofing off time, because Wayne is usually pretty tired and needs some sort of outlet to unwind from a hard day's at work. We tried doing devotions together, but his schedule is so erratic, that we temporarily gave that up. Anyways, we basically just checked in with each other (who ever said that DTRs end after you get married?!) and it was good. I'm really happy with Wayne. He's literally my other half, and almost a part of me (and vice versa). It's nice to have a companion to go through life with, and someone who knows you as much as (if not more than) yourself, and is always there to support and love. It's also a special treat when that person is just as like-minded about ministry and life-outlook as you are... and continually encouraging and pushing each other onward towards the same goals we both have for each other. I trust him completely, and I never have to feel ashamed, embarrassed, or beneath him because he accepts me for who I am, mistakes and all (and vice versa). As I often reassure him: he may not be perfect (he doesn't have to be), but he's perfect for me. =)
Today I'm going to take Mike to see the doctor. And then its back to my formatting again (I hope to turn it in by Friday morning).
