Wayne and I just got back from San Jose nearly an hour ago. We were there over the weekend -- couldn't find a free weekend (since Thanksgiving) to come down until this weekend. I made sure that we didn't have any major plans over the weekend except to sleep, sleep, and more sleep (which is what we did). It was also good to hang with the in-laws and see old friends. Did some catching up with Barb and Cindy, and saw a little bit of Thomas and visited with Albert & Cheryl (we're inheriting Peter & Jean's old piano that they are holding for us). It was good seeing old SS friends at South Valley. Wayne decided that the next time we're down, we should make an effort to meet up with particular individuals... Willie & Lena and Peter F. to name a few. I think it would be good to catch up with Peter; hadn't really talked to him much since our pre-m days. We miss our SS buddies, but this trip spoke volumes of where we're at and how much we've moved on. And how much our community has been changing. (And how we've changed.)

Once I was back, I did some clean-up phone calls. Chatted at length with SJ. Came to a sobering conclusion that should this pending war take him away, we'd be losing an honorable and God-fearing man, as well as a good friend.

I'm looking forward to Perspectives tommorrow. Can't wait.
