The whole weekend was a whirlwind of friends and hanging out. We had a full house Friday night (when we have guests over, it gives me a chance to try out my brunch recipes for everyone). Saturday was a housewarming down the street at Kevin & Nancy's, and then it was off to little Justin's 4th birthday party at Paul & Christine's. We didn't get back til pretty late, and we zonked out soon after. Sunday Wayne had to work (he was on-call that night too) and I took Gene to church. After lunch, we came back to the house, just in time for William and Allen to drop off Cindy. Caught up with the Lo boys and saw Gene & Cindy off. The rest of the afternoon and evening I was half working on my Perspectives homework, watching the Raiders game, and watching the Golden Globes. Fairly quiet evening, although I had plenty of time to reflect on some of the thoughts swarming my head ever since the morning's sermon.
Wayne came back post-call around noon, and made a cheeseburger for me. How sweet of him. A couple girls called me up to invite me on the spot to go to Napa for the day. Sounded like fun, but I think I'll put my husband on my priority list for today. He's looking forward to hanging out with me and vice versa. I hate having to explain this concept to some of my single friends who don't really understand it all that well... but feel jilted nevertheless. Or there are the ones that have their friendships being a little too close for comfort, making the couple feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable (female friends a bit too friendly with the husband and excluding the wife, guy friends a bit too close to the wife without trying to extend a similiar friendship to the husband, etc). It's all harmless, but still ... blech. Still trying to balance it all out.
